Thai Tourism Authority launches ‘Amazing MuayThai’ tourism campaign to promote Thai martial arts as a soft power

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) in collaboration with  WBC MuayThai has launched a tourism campaign called ‘Amazing MuayThai’ to promote the national martial art as a soft power to the world.

TAT governor Yuthasak Supasorn said that the campaign is meant to integrate tourism and the sport of Muay Thai to become an international standard sport.

Under this collaboration, TAT will support the organization of Muay Thai sports tourism campaigns and activities abroad and produce Muay Thai tourism guides to build the sport’s brand awareness in order to be internationally recognized. The Tourism Authority also plans to develop sports tourism in Thailand to become a world-class Muay Thai destination, aiming to generate income and growth in the Thai boxing industry supply chain in all dimensions.

During the launch ceremony on Friday (July 1st), the Governor appointed Matthew Dean, a famous actor, and host, as an Amazing Muay Thai Ambassador. WBC MuayThai diamond champions, Petchmorakot Petchyindee and Mehdi Zatout, current WBC MuayThai world champions, Nabil VenumMuayThai and Sajjad VenumMuayThai, and young stars Kwankao Mor Rattanabandit and Petchaektho Boomdeksian will also be joining the campaign.
