Pattaya —
The ongoing wire-burying project on Pattaya Walking Street that has been operating for a year is possibly set to be completed by March 2023.
A meeting was held today, June 30th, with representatives from the Provincial Electricity Authority, the National Telecommunications Commission, the Provincial Waterworks Authority, and Pattaya mayor Poramese Ngampiches to provide an update on the unfinished wire-burying project on Pattaya Walking Street.
According to the Provincial Electricity Authority in charge of normal electrical wires, the pipelines to conceal the wire had successfully been laid out, but they still needed to distribute wire to each household before the road could be resurfaced.
Also, the old current transformer cabinets in each alley were still awaiting to be replaced, which would most likely be completed in July 2022.
However, the National Telecommunications Commission in charge of communication wire stated that their work could only be completed by March 2023 due to the enormous task of coordinating with 27 telecommunication companies in Pattaya.
Additionally, the street has been ordered to be returned to normality as quickly as possible and urgent resurfacing and road tile replacement has been taking place daily.
Overall, the authorities believed there would not be a postponement, and Pattaya Walking Street would look a lot more orderly without wires.
