Poramase “Beer” Ngampiches still takes the lead in Pattaya Mayor re-election on June 12th according to unofficial results

The Pattaya Election Commission has announced the unofficial results of the re-election for Pattaya mayor in two districts with Poramase “Beer” Ngampiches taking the lead as expected.

The announcement was made yesterday, June 12th, in front of the Pattaya City Hall and was monitored by Vibhavadi Wongsoot, Director of the Pattaya Tourism and Sports Bureau, and Supinda Thongcharoen, Head of Pattaya Public Relations.


According to the announcement, 38,542 voters out of 78,018 voted in total between the two elections.
The total number of ballots claimed was 38,542, with 36,700 valid votes, 1,004 invalid votes, and 750 no votes.

The leading candidate for mayor of Pattaya with 14,482 votes was Poramase Ngampiches, the No. 1 candidate from the Rao Rak Pattaya” or “We Love Pattaya” Party led by former mayor Sonthaya Khunplume. Second place was Sinchai Wattanasartsathorn with 12,477 votes. The third was “Bob” Kittisak with 8,774 votes. And, the last place was independent candidate Sakchai Taenghor with 990 votes.

The Pattaya News notes that Poramase Ngampiches needs to await the official results first to be certified by the Election Commission to officially become the new Pattaya mayor.

Once this expected process takes place, Poramase can pick a team of deputy mayors and assistants to begin to tackle many issues in Pattaya.
