Sri Racha, Chonburi —

A 35-year-old truck driver broke his leg in a massive collision with another truck in Sri Racha after the driver reportedly fell asleep at the wheel.

Pol. Lt. Col. Phuwadol Phuthi Thuan from the Bowin Police Station responded to a massive road accident on Map Iang – Laem Chabang Rd in the Bo Win subdistrict, Sri Racha, Chonburi.

One truck was found having crashed into the rear of a parked truck, according to reports. The 35-year-old driver Amorn (last name not provided) was trapped in the wrecked driver’s seat and broke his left leg. It took the rescue team twenty minutes to free him and transported him to the hospital. Amorn, according to reports, fell asleep at the wheel while he was delivering empty containers to Cambodia.

The driver of the second truck involved, identified only by his first name Pinyo, 43, told the associated local press that he pulled over on the roadside to take a break and was about to enter his truck when Amorn suddenly crashed into the rear, trapping him in the driver’s seat and crushing his leg. Pinyo was uninjured, according to reports.

Bowin police captured the pictures of the accident scene and planned to summon Amorn for interrogation and possible legal charges when he fully recovered.
