Admiral John Aquilino, Commander, U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, will visit Thailand June 7-9 to lead the United States side in the first U.S.-Thai Senior Leader Dialogue. Admiral Aquilino will also meet with counterparts from the Thai Ministry of Defense and the Royal Thai Armed Forces. This will be Admiral Aquilino’s second visit to Thailand as Commander of U.S. Info-Pacific Command and is part of ongoing engagements to support Thailand’s military modernization, deepen the U.S.-Thai alliance, and advance a Free and Open Indo-Pacific.
Admiral Aquilino graduated from the Navy Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN), and the Joint Forces Staff College and completed Harvard Kennedy School’s Executive Education Program in National and International Security. Admiral Aquilino assumed duties as commander, Indo-Pacific Command in May 2021. He is the 26th commander of the nation’s oldest and largest combatant command. U.S. Indo-Pacific Command includes 380,000 soldiers, sailors, marines, airmen, guardians, coast guardsmen and Department of Defense civilians and is responsible for all U.S. military activities in the Indo-Pacific, covering 36 nations, 14 time zones, and more than 50% of the world’s population.
