The Hanging Legs Thai noodles restaurant in Pattaya has challenged customers to finish a 4.5-kilogram giant noodle bowl in 20 minutes to win 3,000 baht as a way to stimulate the domestic economy after the Covid-19 hardship.
Restaurant owner Thitiya Smith told local reporters that the restaurant received a good response since its first launch in October 2021. It became popular among customers who like the cozy atmosphere and taste of food.
At the moment when the government has relaxed the Covid-19 measures and both Thai and foreign tourists began to return to Pattaya again, the shop, therefore, is undertaking a business tactic of eating challenges to stimulate the economy, increase sales, and create bustling tourism in Pattaya.
Participants must finish a giant bowl of noodles, which weighs about 4.5 kilograms, in 20 minutes to win the challenge and receive a prize of 3,000 baht. But if they fail, they have to pay 899 baht. The contest accepts only 15 people per day.
The Hanging Legs Thai noodles restaurant is located near Chak Nok Reservoir, serving pork noodles, Nam Tok, Tom Yum Talay, Yentafo, as well as a la carte dishes and European dishes, starting at 89 baht. Special bowls of giant noodles are served at a price of 599 and 899 baht.
