49-year-old Sri Racha garage owner found dead after allegedly having a physical altercation with an excavator driver

Sri Racha, Chonburi —

A 49-year-old garage owner was found dead at his residence the next day after allegedly having a physical and verbal dispute with an excavator driver.

At 8.30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 25th, Pol Lt. Col. Dansak Pludi from the Nong Kham Police Station was notified of a middle-aged person’s body found at his residence in the Bueng sub-district, Sri Racha, Chonburi.

The body was identified later as Duen Chukampang, a 49-year-old male motorbike garage owner. He was found slumped forward in a green shirt and long dark trousers. The victim was estimated to be dead for seven to eight hours by Nong Kham police.

Chaichong Chukampanga, a 65-year-old brother of the deceased who also found the body, said that he saw the victim having an argument with an unidentified excavator driver over a misunderstanding the prior day.

The victim moved the driver’s bike into his garage because he mistook it for his customer’s. The driver then allegedly punched the victim before neighbors came to halt the fight. After the incident, the victim closed his garage and was found dead the next morning.

As of now, police transferred the body for a preliminary autopsy at the Laem Chabang Hospital to clarify the cause of death. They are also searching for the other person involved in the altercation for an interview, but have not officially named the person as a suspect as of press time.
