Driver seriously injured after flying iron scrap hit his head while driving a pickup in Chonburi

Chonburi –

A 43-year-old driver has sustained injuries after a piece of flying iron scrap hit his head, smashing his windshield, while he was driving his pickup truck in the Mueang Chonburi district.

The Mueang Chonburi Police were notified of the incident yesterday (May 24th) on the Bypass Road in Nong Maidang sub-district.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene to find the pickup truck in which the front glass was heavily damaged. A 50 centimeter long piece of iron scrap was found in front of the pickup truck.

The driver, Mr. Tassana Panon, 43, who was unconscious, had sustained head injuries and was bleeding heavily. He was rushed to a local hospital for urgent medical assistance.

A witness, whose name was not released to the press, was driving behind the pickup truck in question and stated, “A larger truck ran over the iron scrap on the road. The iron then flew into the air before hitting the pickup truck and flying through the windshield, injuring the driver.”

Police are checking CCTV to find who dropped the iron for further legal action.
