51-year-old woman falls to death in empty swimming pool in Pattaya

Pattaya, Thailand-

A 51-year-old woman tragically fell to her death into an empty swimming pool this afternoon in Nongprue, part of the Pattaya area.

The incident occurred about 2:00 P.M. at a townhouse in Nongprue and was first responded to by Lt. Col. Teetat Trunjun of the Nongprue police.

He and rescue staff found Mrs. Jongkol Kristjes, 51, lying at the bottom of a swimming pool that according to other people at the scene had been empty due to ongoing repairs.

A witness, Rat Kaewkongpan, 57, said that Jongkol had been cleaning glass windows around the pool when she lost her balance and tumbled inside, hitting her head during the fall. Several witnesses and friends were nearby and attempted to revive Jongkol but failed, calling police and rescue services for assistance.

Lt. Col. Teetat stated to The Pattaya News that the information given by the witnesses seemed correct and that there was no sign of foul play and that Jongkol’s death appeared to be a tragic accident.
