May 4th marks the Coronation Day in Thailand which the government has announced as a public holiday in 2019 to honor the day that the reigning king, King Maha Vajiralongkorn, was crowned.

The three-day coronation ceremony of King Maha Vajiralongkorn, or King Rama X of the Chakri dynasty, took place on the morning of May 4th, 2019, and ended on May 6th.
