A suspect has been arrested yesterday (April 27th) after robbing a handicapped, wheelchair-bound lottery seller in Banglamung earlier this week. The suspect admitted to the crime, saying he was under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

Now, for our update:
A team from the Chonburi Provincial Police and the Huayyai Police revealed the arrest news to the press. They reported that they arrested Tanaphon ‘Beer’ Janthamol, 26. He was arrested after reportedly hiding in a remote, rural area in Nikhom Pattana, Rayong, and had been tracked down using CCTV.
Seized from Tanaphon were several reportedly stolen items from the handicapped lottery seller. A re-enactment of the crime was also held.
Beer admitted to the police that he robbed the lottery seller while drunk and under the influence of methamphetamine. He claimed he threw stolen lottery tickets in a bin, but could not remember where. The gold necklace he stole from the vendor he sold to a gold shop in Nikhom Pattana.
The Chonburi Provincial Police commander Colonel Major General Attasit Kitjaharn told TPN reporters, “This suspect, “Beer”, has committed many crimes in Nikhom Pattana. He chose the handicapped person as he knows they are unable to fight back and easy to rob, by his own admittance.”
Beer is facing, at minimum, several years in prison due to being a repeat offender, according to Chonburi police, and remains in custody as of press time.
