Chonburi –

Hundreds of durians worth more than 500,000 baht scattered all over a roadside after a pickup truck overturned in the Ban Bueng district yesterday morning (April 25th).

Chonburi police were notified of the accident on Number 344 Road in Ban Bueng. They arrived at the scene to find an overturned brand new pickup truck on the side of the road. No injuries, however, were reported. Hundreds of durians were found scattered nearby.

The pickup driver, Mr. Anurak Jaetae, 30, told Chonburi police, “I was taking 3.5 tons of durians worth about 525,000 baht from Chanthaburi to Narathiwat (Southern Thailand).”

“When I arrived at the scene I fell asleep at the wheel before my pickup truck fell off the road and overturned. Luckily I was not injured, although I suffered substantial damage to my products.”

Chonburi police have declined to press any charges in the incident as of press time.
