Chonburi –

A 43-year-old driver has escaped serious injuries after his pickup truck crashed into a central reservation before overturning in the Phan Thong district.

The Phan Thong Police were notified of the accident earlier this week, Tuesday, April 19th, on Suk Prayoon Road during the mid-afternoon.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene to find the damaged blue pickup truck in the middle of the road. The central reservation and a tree on the central reservation had also been damaged by the crash.

The driver, Mr. Kietisak Suhom, 43, from Surin, had sustained only minor injuries and declined medical assistance. He told TPN media, “I was driving at about 80 kilometers per hour heading to my girlfriend’s home. There was a sedan that immediately changed the lane in front of my truck. I tried to avoid the collision but lost control of my vehicle. My pickup truck crashed into the central reservation before overturning.”

The sedan driver who allegedly cut off Kietisak, however, denied the accusation. Mr. Siwakorn, 20, the sedan driver, told TPN media, “I am sure that there was no other vehicle before I decided to change the lane, using my turn signal, but the pickup truck was driving at high speed and ran off the road due to his reckless driving. This wasn’t my fault.”

Phan Thong police are checking CCTV footage nearby to find the exact cause of the accident and determine which driver’s statement was correct.
