Bangkok –

Prinn Panitchpakdi, former Democrat deputy leader, was granted temporary bail on all three pending cases, namely two sexual harassment cases and one rape case, by the South Bangkok Criminal Court yesterday, April 17th.

Prinn was accused of allegedly conducting sexual harassment against an 18-year-old teenager and three other victims. He initially denied all charges during his first questioning with Lumphini police officials on Saturday.

On Sunday, the first court hearing had approved the investigators’ request to temporarily detain the former Democrat politician for 12 days, from April 17th to the 28th. The court had also agreed to temporarily release the suspect on all charges after his lawyer filed a bail request for a total of 700,000 baht under the condition that he must not leave the country during the investigation.

Prinn said after the hearing that he believed in the country’s justice process. His lawyer told reporters that there would be another official press conference to report on the cases and would announce the date and time in the near future.

Prinn maintains he is innocent although the mounting allegations have driven much doubt and discussion on social media.
