‘Big Bike’ rider dies after colliding with sedan in the Pattaya area

A motorcycle rider, often called by Thais as “Big Bikes”, has been pronounced dead at the scene after colliding with a sedan in Banglamung yesterday (April 12th).

Emergency responders were notified of the accident at an intersection called Rong Mai Keed on Sukhumvit Road.

They arrived at the scene to find the damaged sedan on the road. A Laotian national, Mrs. Phetsamone  Sophavady, 27, was waiting for police at the scene uninjured.

The damaged Honda 500X was found in the opposite lane. The driver, Mr. Narongrit Prachachit, 31, from Roi-Et, was found dead on the central reservation.

Mrs. Phetsamone told police, “I was about to turn right. The motorbike was coming from a straightaway at high speed before colliding with my sedan.”

Mrs. Phetsamone was taken to the Banglamung Police Station for further interviews. Police are checking CCTV footage to find the exact cause of the accident for further potential legal action.
