Thailand reported a total of 22,387 daily Covid-19 infections with 105 additional deaths in the past 24 hours, the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) announced today, April 11th.
The fatalities were 57 men, 48 women with the highest rate in Bangkok with 14. 103 of them were Thai nationals, one was an Australian national, and one was unidentified. The age range was between 5 and 105 years old.
Most of them were reported with underlying health conditions, including cancer (6), kidney disease (25), obesity (5), stroke (8), and heart disease (17). 10 of the fatalities were bedridden patients.
Of the new cases, 21,977 were found in hospitals and medical services (which includes contact tracing cases), 305 were from a proactive approach at previously reported clusters, 18 were from prisons, and the remaining 87 were imported cases.
A number of 245,973 patients are still under treatment/isolation/medical care. Of that, 2,065 patients are in critical condition including 856 on ventilators. This is roughly 0.83 percent of cases that are critical while 41.4 percent of that are critical enough for a ventilator.
Regarding the non-prison local infections, the highest number of patients were reported in Bangkok with 3,147, followed by Chonburi with 1,036, Nakhon Sri Thammarat with 831, Nonthaburi with 784, Samut Prakan with 766, and Khon Kaen with 650.
The total number of people vaccinated in Thailand today has not been revealed by the CCSA today as the system of the Ministry of Public Health’s Immunization Center (MOPH IC) is now updating its database.
As of today, 27,680 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 3,905,872 cases with 3,634,109 recoveries and a total of 26,188 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
