1. Three people involved in famous Thai actress’ fatal incident facing legal charges of recklessness and perjury
The three suspects were charged with recklessness causing death and perjury. According to Dtangmo’s mother’s lawyer, the lawyer team had filed complaints against Dtangmo’s friends on the speedboat based on the evidence. However, none of the collected evidence had indicated or led to that Dangmo’s death involved murder so far. Despite the fact that Dtangmo’s manager was recently charged for giving false statements, the lawyer still believed that the case was nothing more than a tragic accident.
2. More than 10,000 international travelers per day arrive at Suvarnabhumi Airport after “easing” of Covid-19 restrictions from April 1st, but a far cry from 2019 as businesses call for Thailand Pass and Test and Go to go away immediately
Since the first day of the easing measures for international arrivals on April 1st, Thailand had welcomed more than 10,000 tourists per day, significantly increasing by 65.97 from March. Although the number was up, it was far behind the average number in the pre-covid period, especially in the high season of April. Therefore, many private tourist associations and entrepreneurs continued to strongly demand the government to scratch all of the complicated traveling policies to attract more tourists and save the domestic economy.
3. Phalang Pracharath MP Pareena was removed from position and banned from running in elections for life in Thailand
The Supreme Court’s verdict against the Ratchaburi MP had drawn social debates and opinions last week among both government coalition parties members and some pro-democracy activists. One includes Piyabutr Saengkanokkul of the Progressive Movement who said that the verdict of the ban on political engagement for life depicted the flaws and misuse of the Thai Constitution as the punishment was excessive and not proportional to the accusation.
