Chonburi –

A man has sustained serious injuries after his trailer truck’s tire reportedly exploded while it was being inflated in the Mueang Chonburi district.

Emergency responders were notified of the incident in the morning yesterday (April 8th) at a mechanical garage in the Don Hualor sub-district.

First response teams arrived at the scene to find Mr. Winai, 59, who goes by only one name, near the trailer truck which had one of its wheels removed. He had sustained severe head injuries and he was taken to a local hospital.

Mr. Yos, a witness and mechanic, told TPN media, “I was inflating the trailer truck’s tire after finishing fixing some holes on the tire. Mr. Winai, the driver, was wacthing nearby when the tire exploded. The wheel bounced before hitting Mr. Winai and he fell down to the ground. I didn’t mean to injure anyone, this was an accident.”

As of press time, Mueang Chonburi police agreed with Yos and had not pressed any charges.
