Chonburi-

A 13-year-old son in student uniform died while his mother has sustained serious injuries after his father allegedly opened fire before killing himself at a school in the Mueang Chonburi district yesterday (April 2nd).

The Mueang Chonburi Police was notified of the incident at 8:00 A.M. at a school in the Bang Plasoi sub-district.

Police and emergency responders arrived at the scene to find the body of a 13-year-old boy still wearing his school uniform. A bullet wound was found to his head.

Nearby, police officers found the body of Mr. Anucha, 50, with bullet wounds found to his temple. A handgun was found on the ground lying by his feet.

Ms. Areesara, 49, had sustained severe injuries from bullet wounds to her arm and ribs. She was rushed to a local hospital for emergency surgery and remained in serious condition as of press time. The last name of all three family members was withheld pending a further investigation and to protect the identity of the survivor and deceased minor.

Teachers at the school, located in Bang Plasoi, told the associated local press that yesterday was the first day of new students enrolling but no one saw the incident, which reportedly took place in a secluded area of the school grounds.

Mueang Chonburi police told the local associated press that this was not the first incident or signs of trouble with the family. Last month Ms. Areesara had filed a report to the Samet Police in Chonburi after arguing with her husband Mr. Anucha. At this stage, police believe a domestic dispute led to this tragedy, although were still investigating the exact argument in question. Relatives of the family had so far declined to speak to the media.
