Two intoxicated factory workers in Chonburi stab one another after arguing about who is the harder worker

Two “friends” who worked in a factory together got into a knife fight after arguing about who was the harder worker while drinking alcohol together last weekend.

On Sunday, March 27th, 2022, around 1:00 P.M., police from the Chonburi Police Station were given reports of a knife fight in the Nong Khang Khok sub-district, Mueang District, Chonburi, before rushing to the scene with emergency responders. At the fight scene, Mungkorn Phongnu, 48, was found moaning in agony with several stab wounds to his ribs. Scattered around him were bottles of liquor, a broken point-tip knife, and a small pool of blood. The injured was quickly transported to Chonburi Hospital. According to a neighbor who reported the fight to the police, a friend of the injured, Thaksin Chalardlert, 39,  who works in the same factory and he were drinking together before they got into an argument about their work which was soon followed by a cry of pain from the injured. Thaksin was still intoxicated at the time of the police’s arrival and claimed he got attacked first and only defended himself.

He was detained by Chonburi police for further investigation. It was unclear, notes TPN media, who was the harder worker.
