Chonburi announces 1,089 new and confirmed cases of Covid-19 and four new deaths

Highlights:

  • 1,089 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Chonburi today

  • 6,831 positive ATK (rapid antigen) tests were reported but all require a second confirmed PCR test before being counted as official cases. The ATK positive tests are just “possible” cases until confirmed by PCR. TPN notes, however, that second confirmed tests are no longer mandatory except for high-risk groups.
  • 1,451 (PCR) and 4,243(ATK) recovered and were released from medical care
  • Four new deaths

The Chonburi Department of Public Health announced 1,089 new and confirmed cases of Covid-19 today with four new death, March 29th, 2022.

This makes a total of 74,490 cases (PCR) and 141,080 cases (ATK) of Covid-19 in the current round of infections, with 12,421 (PCR) and 57,986 (ATK) people still under medical care/supervision, and with a total of 135 recorded deaths in Chonburi since the start of this recent round of infections at the beginning of this year, January 2022.

Additionally, 1,451 (PCR) and 4,243 (ATK) people were also released and recovered yesterday in Chonburi. 61,934 (PCR) and 83,094 (ATK) people in total have now been released from medical care and recovered in Chonburi since this current wave of Covid-19 began at the beginning of this year, January 2022.
Five people were listed as being in serious condition in Chonburi currently, either on a ventilator or with pneumonia. Two of them were vaccinated. According to the Chonburi Department of Public Health, the vast majority of recent cases are mild or asymptomatic at 99.652 percent.
Four new deaths were aged 61,71, 85, and 91 with severe personal health problems and pre-existing conditions. One of them was not vaccinated.
In total, 2,037,291 people in Pattaya and Chonburi have received their first dose of a Covid -19 vaccine which is 87.47 percent of the total Chonburi population. Of those, 306,825 have received their first dose and are what the Thai government calls 608 groups (elders, have chronic health problems, and pregnant) which is 82.94 percent of those in these risk groups in Chonburi.
930,913 people have received their triple dose which is 39.97 percent of the total Chonburi population. Of those, 162,258 are 608 groups which is 43.86 percent of those in these risk groups in Chonburi.

The district-level new cases were as follows today:

Mueang Chonburi 114, Si Racha 319, Banglamung (Pattaya) 317, Panat Nikhom 21, Sattahip 117, Ban Bueng 48, Phan Thong 36, ฺBor Thong 5, Nong Yai 2, and 110 people transferred from other provinces for medical care

The details of the cases are as follows:

  1. Work and stayed in Rayong, transferred from other provinces for medical care, 95 cases
  2. Cluster, Thai NOK company in Mueang Chonburi, 3 cases
  3. Risky occupations meeting many people, 27 cases
  4. 46 medical personnel
  5. 5 Back from other provinces in Chiang Mai(2), Bangkok(1), Pichit (1), and Sukhothai (1)
  6. Close contacts from previously confirmed cases in families – 249 cases, in workplaces –60 cases, close personal contacts – 80 cases, and joined a party – 4 case
  7. Close contacts of a confirmed patient (under investigation), 29 cases
  8. 491 cases of close contacts with a confirmed patient (under investigation)
