Local Somtam female vendor killed, husband seriously injured in hit-and-run accident in Pattaya area

Pattaya, Chonburi –

A female Somtam vendor was killed instantly while her husband was seriously injured after being involved in a hit and run by a sedan in the Banglamung area during the early hours of this morning, March 27th.

Pattaya City police arrived at the scene at 3:00 AM. this morning after being notified of the road accident. Upon arrival, a motorcycle food stall was discovered lying on the road. Food ingredients for selling Somtam were scattered across the roadway.

A Thai man, the husband of the deceased, was found in serious condition with several wounds and was rushed to the nearest hospital. The victim, whose name was later revealed as Supawadee Kaewlan, was found dead at the scene.

According to witnesses, the other party was a sedan that was seen excessively swaying side to side at a high speed before crashing into the food stall. The driver reportedly left the car to see the injured briefly before hurriedly jumping back into their vehicle and driving away.

Pattaya police collected evidence and checked the CCTV at the scene again to track down the driver of the said vehicle for further legal proceedings.
