Sri Racha –

An intoxicated Burmese man has stabbed his sister to death after arguing in their shared rental room in Sri Racha, reportedly after an argument about the suspect’s drinking habits.

The Sri Racha Police was notified of the incident mid-afternoon on Wednesday, March 23rd, at a rental room in the Nong Kham sub-district.

Law enforcement officials arrived at the scene to find the body of the deceased woman who was identified as Ms. Nu Nu Way, 40, a Myanmar national. She had been stabbed multiple times in the head and a kitchen knife was found lying nearby.

The suspect Mr. Tay Mi, a 45-year-old Myanmar national who was heavily intoxicated was taken to the Nong Kham Police Station.

The suspect told police he was Ms. Nu’s elder brother. He admitted he was drunk, but denied he had a drinking problem, which also was the reported cause of the argument between his sister and himself. Mr. Tay stated to law enforcement that he became so offended by “false accusations” from his sister that he decided to stab her to death.

The suspect did not appear to show any remorse for the incident, according to Sri Racha police, and continued to deny he had any issues with drinking.

The suspect will face charges of first-degree murder and remains in custody as of press time.
