Chonburi announces 1,341 new and confirmed cases of Covid-19 and three new deaths including one-month-old baby

Highlights:

  • 1,341 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Chonburi today

  • 6,714 positive ATK (rapid antigen) tests were reported but all require a second confirmed PCR test before being counted as official cases. The ATK positive tests are just “possible” cases until confirmed by PCR. TPN notes, however, that second confirmed tests are no longer mandatory except for high-risk groups.
  • 1,146 (PCR) and 2,405 (ATK) recovered and were released from medical care
  • Three new deaths

The Chonburi Department of Public Health announced 1,341 new and confirmed cases of Covid-19 today with three new deaths including a one-month-old baby, March 24th, 2022.

This makes a total of 68,323 cases (PCR) and 109,394 cases (ATK) of Covid-19 in the current round of infections, with 12,461 (PCR) and 47,742 (ATK) people still under medical care/supervision, and with a total of 124 recorded deaths in Chonburi since the start of this recent round of infections at the beginning of this year, January 2022.

Additionally, 1,146 (PCR) and 2,405 (ATK) people were also released and recovered yesterday in Chonburi. 55,738 (PCR) and 61,652 (ATK) people in total have now been released from medical care and recovered in Chonburi since this current wave of Covid-19 began at the beginning of this year, January 2022.

Five people were listed as being in serious condition in Chonburi currently, either on a ventilator or pneumonia. One person was not vaccinated. According to the Chonburi Department of Public Health, the vast majority of recent cases are mild or asymptomatic at 99.638 percent.
The three new deaths were aged one month, 46, and 80 with severe personal health problems and pre-existing conditions. ฺTwo of them were not vaccinated.
In total, 2,026,697 people in Pattaya and Chonburi have received their first dose of a Covid -19 vaccine which is 87.02 percent of the total Chonburi population. Of those, 306,683 have received their first dose and are what the Thai government calls 608 groups (elders, have chronic health problems, and pregnant) which is 82.89 percent of those in these risk groups in Chonburi.
912,605 people have received their triple dose which is 39.18 percent of the total Chonburi population. Of those, 157,773 are 608 groups which are 42.65 percent of those in these risk groups in Chonburi.

The district-level new cases were as follows today:

Mueang Chonburi 198, Si Racha 423, Banglamung (Pattaya) 361, Panat Nikhom 16, Sattahip 83, Ban Bueng 89, Phan Thong 62, ฺBor Thong 12, Ko Chan 3, Nong Yai 9, and 110 people transferred from other provinces for medical care.

  5. Risky occupations meeting many people, 46 cases
  6. 39 medical personnel
  7. 8 Back from other provinces in Bangkok (5), Nakhon Ratchasima (1), Nakhon Sawan (1), and Sakaeo (1)
  8. Close contacts from previously confirmed cases in families – 330 cases, in workplaces –45 cases, close personal contacts – 93 cases, and joined a party – 8 case
  9. Close contacts of a confirmed patient (under investigation), 52 cases
  10. 629 cases of close contacts of a confirmed patient (under investigation)
