Fire guts apartment in Pattaya area, alarms locals

Banglamung-

An apartment caught fire in the Pattaya area yesterday afternoon (March 22nd), alarming locals, but no injuries were reported.

Firefighters were notified of the fire at an apartment in Soi Sukhumvit 75 in Nongprue, directly next to the highway which was visible to many passersby. Fireteams and The Pattaya News arrived at the scene to find smoke coming from the first floor of the apartment. It took about 20 minutes for firefighters to put out the fire. No injuries were reported.

Neighbors nearby told The Pattaya News team that no one currently lives in the apartment, although it is fully furnished. They smelled something burning with smoke coming out from the first-floor room before calling emergency services for assistance. The neighbor declined to give their name to TPN media.

At this stage, the Banglamung police believe that the fire started from an electric short circuit in the apartment. However, the exact cause of the fire is still being investigated.
