Unidentified rider seriously injured after crashing his motorbike into a trailer truck in Chonburi

Chonburi –

An unidentified driver has sustained severe injuries after he crashed his motorbike into a parked trailer truck in the Phan Thong district earlier this week.

Emergency responders were notified of the accident on the Phan Thong – Huapai Road in the Na Pradoo sub-district on the evening of March 17th, 2022.

They arrived at the scene to find a male, who appeared to be Thai, who had sustained severe head injuries lying on the road. No identification document was found with him.

Nearby, first response teams found a parked trailer truck on the side of the road and the damaged motorbike at the back of the truck. A helmet was found on the road, it was unclear if it was not being used or if it had come off during the collision.

The truck driver, Mr. Sanguan Taengam, 49, told TPN media, “My truck had a breakdown due to engine issues. I parked the broken truck on the side of the road in the middle of the afternoon and was waiting for roadside assistance. I turned on my warning lights and put some tree branches on the road at the back to warn other motorists. This did not, however, work for this particular motorbike rider.”

Police are checking CCTV footage to see if the driver did what he said before the accident and if there will be any potential charges relating to the collision.
