Chonburi –

A 54-year-old driver was found unconscious after he crashed his trailer truck into a power pole in the Phanat Nikhom district.

Emergency responders were notified of the accident on the Panat Nikhom – Chachoengsao Road in Na Phra Tat sub-district earlier this week.

They arrived at the scene to find the trailer truck had plunged into a power pole on the side of the road.

The driver, Mr. Sutat Jaiwai, 54, was found unconscious inside the cab. It took more than half an hour for rescue workers to pull him out before taking him to a local hospital.  A high voltage power pole was broken from the crash.

Local residents who had crowded around the area to watch the rescue of Sutat told TPN reporters that there were many accidents on this road, especially during rainstorms.

Phanat Nikhom Police stated that they would review CCTV and determine what led to the crash, noting it could have been from an emergency medical condition based on Sutat’s condition.
