Thailand reported a total of 22,130 daily Covid-19 infections with 69 additional deaths in the past 24 hours, the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) reported today, March 14th.
The fatalities were 42 men and 27 women with the highest deaths recorded in Bangkok with 5. 68 of them were Thai nationals and one was a Myanmar national. The age range was between 2 months and 99 years old.
Most of them were reported with underlying health conditions, including cancer (8), kidney disease (25), obesity (9), stroke (7), and heart disease (15). Nine of the fatalities were bedridden patients.
Of the new cases, 21,767 were found in hospitals and medical services (which includes contact tracing cases), 267 were from a proactive approach at previously reported clusters, 69 were from prisons, and the remaining 27 were imported cases.
A number of 225,889 patients are still under treatment/isolation/medical care. Of that, 1,353 patients are in critical condition including 453 on ventilators. This is roughly 0.59 percent of cases that are critical while 33.4 percent of that is critical enough for a ventilator.
Regarding the non-prison local infections, the highest number of patients were reported in Bangkok with 3,060, followed by Nakhon Sri Thammarat with 1,268, Chonburi with 1,117, Samut Prakan with 935, Nonthaburi with 757, and Samut Sakhon with 666.
A total number of 71,155 people nationwide have received Covid-19 vaccines in the past 24 hours. Of that, 28,868 people had received their first shots, 5,984 people had received their second shots, and 36,303 people had received their third shots. This is roughly 78.2% of the total Thai population who have had their first shot of a Covid-19 vaccine, 71.9% who have had a second shot and are fully vaccinated, and 31.3% have had a third booster shot.
As of today, 23,508 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 3,206,955 cases with 2,957,288 recoveries and a total of 23,778 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
