The Thai Meteorological Department had warned of outbreaks of summer storms in most parts of Thailand from today, March 7th, until the 8th.
According to the announcement, the summer storms – consisting of thunderstorms, gusty winds, and hails – are expected in the Northeast, the North, the Central, and the East, including Bangkok and its vicinity, and the upper South regions of the country.
This occurrence is due to the result of a moderate high-pressure area from China extending towards upper Thailand while hot weather remains in the upper country.
Affected areas are as follows:

North: Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Uttaradit, Tak, Sukhothai, Kamphaeng Phet, Phichit, Phitsanulok, and Phetchabun
Northeast: Loei, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Nong Bua Lam Phu, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Chaiyaphum, Khon Kaen, Maha Sarakham, Kalasin, Mukdahan, Roi Et, Yasothon, Amnat Charoen, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram, Surin, Si Sa Ket, and Ubon Ratchathani
Central: Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chainat, Lop Buri, Saraburi, Sing Buri, Ang Thong, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Suphan Buri, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Samut Songkhram, Samut Sakhon, Nakhon Pathom, and Bangkok and its vicinity
East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chon Buri, Rayong, Chanthaburi, and Trat
South: Phetchaburi and Prachuap Khiri Khan.

The department also warned local residents in the areas to stay safe from the severe conditions by keeping off an open area, big trees, and unsecured billboards. Farmers are advised to prepare for crop damages.
