Chonburi –

More than 70 million baht worth of property has been seized from what law enforcement described as prominent drug dealers from a Chonburi drug network.

A team from the Region 2 Police revealed the news to the Thai press yesterday (March 1st). They have arrested Mr. Kerkchai Raksawong, 34, and Ms. Pawinee Khaokaewm 36, at a house that allegedly belongs to Mr. Sittichai Manadee ‘Tol Mueang Chon’ in Mueang Chonburi. ‘Tol Mueang Chon’ is one of the members of an extensive drug network, says Region 2 Police. TPN notes it was not immediately clear what the status of Tol Mueang Chon was.

Police seized in total 72,586,898 Baht from the suspects including buildings and land, cash, guns, and bullets in Chonburi and other provinces that police say were connected to the network.

The arrests and seizures came after the Nong Kham Police first arrested Mr. Weerayut ‘Wat’ Prachumsai, another alleged member of the drug network whose arrest assisted Region 2 police in their investigation to find more suspects in the drug network.

Region 2 police stated work in breaking down possible further members of the network was continuing.
