Malaysian Prime Minister pays official visit to Thailand for international relations

Bangkok –

Malaysian Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob has arrived in Thailand last night for an official visit with Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-O’Cha as a guest of the Thai government from February 24th to the 26th.

The visit is to officially introduce himself according to leaders of ASEAN member countries after Mr. Yaakob has recently become the new Prime Minister in August 2021.

The Prime Minister of Malaysia is scheduled to discuss official matters with Prayut Chan-O’Cha at the Government House today. Both of them will discuss ways to strengthen the relationship between Thailand and Malaysia as neighboring countries, including ways to revive their economies which have been crucially affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Moreover, they will discuss their cooperation in terms of security, economy, social connectivity in border areas, as well as ASEAN and other multilateral frameworks. The visit is scheduled for three days.
