Pattaya –
A 37-year-old man has sustained multiple injuries after allegedly being attacked by three men in the Pattaya area following a verbal dispute.
The Pattaya City Police were notified of the incident at 4:30 A.M. yesterday morning, February 20th, on Soi Bongkot 8 in Nongprue.
They arrived on the road to find Mr. Paraya Duangpakdee, 37, who had sustained multiple injuries and was bleeding heavily. Paraya was, however, conscious and cognizant and spoke with police and first responders.
Mr. Paraya stated, “I was attacked by three men, who I am previously familiar with, but I would only consider them acquaintances. They took me against my will from Soi Chaiyapoon on a motorbike. We stopped in the Soi Bongkot area to talk about issues we had and they accused me of being a “snitch” and spying for police about their alleged illegal drug activities. This was not the case. They did not believe me and physically attacked me until I was lying defenseless on the ground. They stole my backpack with personal belongings and sped away, leaving me on the road in an unfamiliar area until a nearby resident saw me and called for assistance.”
Pattaya Police told TPN reporters that there is working CCTV footage nearby which will be reviewed to determine exactly what happened in the incident. Officers did not state if they felt the version of the story given by Paraya was factual or not. Paraya was taken to a local medical facility for further assistance after giving a statement to law enforcement.
As of press time, the three suspects had not been caught, TPN notes.
