Chonburi, Phan Thong District–

A 79-year-old woman who lives with her bedridden son received a new house and her first roses ever in her life on Valentine’s Day. Her old house had been previously destroyed by a fire.

On January 1st last year, 2021, Mrs Nipa Anuwat, 78 at the time, had her ancient wooden house destroyed by a fire. The fire was caused after someone nearby was playing with small fireworks on New Year’s day.

Local residents nearby helped Mrs. Nipa and her 49-year-old bedridden son escape from the fire. They tried to fix her old house but instead the Phan Thong Municipality and her neighbors had managed to donate money and build a new house for her.

This was given as a surprise to Mrs. Nipa on Valentine’s Day.

Yesterday, Mrs. Nipa received the new house which was fully furnished and cost about 200,000 baht in total. She also received roses for Valentine’s Day from local residents and Phan Thong officials.

Mrs Nipa told TPN media with cheerful tears, “We are very glad to have a new house. I have never received any roses since I was born. Thank you so much to those who helped me and my son.”
