Thailand discovered a total of 15,882 daily Covid-19 infections with 24 additional deaths in the past 24 hours, the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) reported today, February 13th.
The fatalities were 13 men and 11 women with the highest deaths recorded in Bangkok with 10. 23 of them were Thai nationals and one was an Austrian national. The age range was between 49 and 99 years old.
Most of them were reported with underlying health conditions, including hypertension (12), diabetes (10), hyperlipidemia (6), obesity (2), and kidney disease (6). Two of the fatalities were bedridden patients.
Of the new cases, 15,462 were found in hospitals and medical services (which includes contact tracing cases), 133 were from a proactive approach at previously reported clusters, 87 were from prisons, and the remaining 200 were imported cases.
A number of 124,869 patients are still under treatment/isolation/medical care. Of that, 641 patients are in critical condition including 126 on ventilators. This is roughly 0.51 percent of cases that are critical while 19.6 percent of that is critical enough for a ventilator.
Regarding the non-prison local infections, the highest number of patients were reported in Bangkok with 2,920, followed by Samut Prakan with 948, Nonthaburi with 826, Chonburi with 714, Phuket with 462, and Nakhon Pratom with 394.
A total number of 270,440 people nationwide have received Covid-19 vaccines in the past 24 hours. Of that, 45,597 people had received their first shots, 37,279 people had received their second shots, and 187,564 people had received their third shots. This is roughly 75.9% of the total Thai population who have had their first shot of a Covid-19 vaccine, 70.8% who have had a second shot and are fully vaccinated, and 25.5% have had a third booster shot.
As of today, 9,482 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 2,593,327 cases with 2,446,022 recoveries and a total of 22,436 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
