Thailand discovered a total of 6,718 daily Covid-19 infections with 12 additional deaths in the past 24 hours, the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) reported today, January 25th.
The fatalities were 9 men and 3 women. 11 of them were Thai nationals and one was a British national. The age range was between 50 and 94 years old.
Most of them were reported with underlying health conditions, including hypertension (9), diabetes (3), hyperlipidemia (2), obesity (1), and kidney disease (3).
Of the new cases, 6,476 were found in hospitals and medical services (which includes contact tracing cases), 21 were from a proactive approach at previously reported clusters, 69 were from prisons, and the remaining 152 were imported cases.
A number of 81,532 patients are still under treatment/isolation/medical care. Of that, 548 patients are in critical condition including 114 on ventilators. This is roughly 0.67 percent of cases that are critical while 20.8 percent of that is critical enough for a ventilator.
Regarding the non-prison local infections, the highest number of patients were reported in Bangkok with 1,269, followed by Samut Prakan with 556, Nonthaburi with 441, Phuket with 354, Chonburi with 314, and Khon Kaen with 247.
A total number of 288,356 people nationwide have received Covid-19 vaccines in the past 24 hours. Of that, 22,996 people had received their first shots, 47,236 people had received their second shots, and 218,124 people had received their third shots. This is roughly 74.9% of the total Thai population who have had their first shot of a Covid-19 vaccine, 69.3% who have had a second shot and are fully vaccinated, and 17.9% have had a third booster shot.
As of today, 7,659 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 2,391,357 cases with 2,287,768 recoveries and a total of 22,057 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
