Sri Racha –
A female trailer truck driver has sustained serious injuries after her vehicle crashed into a parked trailer truck in Sri Racha.
The Thai Highway Police were notified of the accident over the past weekend on Motorway 7 Section 2 in the Bang Phra sub-district.
Emergency responders and firefighters were called to the scene to find a heavily burnt trailer truck. Firefighters had managed to extinguish the fire after a short period of time. Outside the trailer truck, first response teams found the female driver Ms. Wannadee Thongampai, who had sustained severe burn injuries and had managed to escape from her vehicle. She was rushed to a local hospital for immediate medical attention.

The driver of the parked trailer truck, Mr. Sangthong Kaewpuang, 48, who was not injured, was waiting for police at the scene.
Sangthong told Sri Racha police “I stopped my trailer truck on the side of the road to take a break and stretch my legs after an extended period of driving. I was just getting back onto my trailer truck when the other vehicle crashed into my truck at high speed and was set ablaze.”
Sri Racha police are continuing their investigation for further potential legal action and examining if Sangthong’s truck was legally parked on the side of the road or using proper signal lighting. Wannadee remained at a local hospital in serious condition as of press time.
