Chonburi, led by Banglamung with 274, announces 556 new and confirmed cases of Covid-19 and no new deaths

The Chonburi Department of Public Health announced 556 new and confirmed cases of Covid-19 today with no new deaths, January 18th, 2022.

This makes a total of 12,096 cases of Covid-19 in the current round of infections, with 7,040 people still under medical care/supervision, and with a total of 11 recorded deaths in Chonburi since the start of this recent round of infections in the beginning of this year, January, 2022.

Additionally, 845 people were also released and recovered yesterday in Chonburi. 5,045 people in total have now been released from medical care and recovered in Chonburi since this current wave of Covid-19 began in the beginning of this year, January, 2022.
Six people were listed as being in serious condition in Chonburi currently, either on a ventilator or pneumonia. Four of them were not vaccinated. According to the Chonburi Department of Public Health, the vast majority of recent cases are mild or asymptomatic.
In total, 1,930,795 people in Pattaya and Chonburi have received their first dose of a Covid -19 vaccine which is 82.90 percent of the total Chonburi population. Of those, 300,126 have received their first dose and are what the Thai government calls 608 groups (elders, have chronic health problems, and pregnant) which is 81.13 percent of those in these risk groups in Chonburi.

The district-level new cases were as follows today:

Mueang Chonburi 61, Si Racha 113, Banglamung (Pattaya) 274, Panat Nikhom 3, Sattahip 33 (in Navy area 0), Ban Bueng 4, Phan Thong 12, Ko Si Chang 5, and 48 people transferred from other provinces for medical care.

The details on the cases are as follows:

  1. Previous “backlog” of confirmed cases in the past have just been reported reported by the Pattaya Memorial Hospital, 130 cases
  2. Work and stayed in Rayong, transferred from other provinces for medical care, 41 cases
  3. Active case finding at restaurants that sell alcohol in Pattaya and Banglamung, 5 cases
  4. Cluster, work camp Thai Toda company in Si Racha, 4 cases
  5. Risky occupations meeting many people, 15 cases
  6. 7 medical personnel
  7. Back from other provinces 3 cases
7.1 Bangkok, 1 cases
7.2 Buriiram, 1 case
7.3 Pathum Thani, 1 case
8. Close contacts from previously confirmed cases in families – 132 cases, in workplaces – 71 cases, close personal contacts – 15 cases, and joined a party – 11 cases
9. Close contacts of a confirmed patient (under investigation), 11 cases
10. 111 cases close contacts of a confirmed patient (under investigation)
