35-year-old man injured after two vehicle crash in Mueang Chonburi

Chonburi –

A 35-year-old truck driver has sustained serious injuries after he crashed into a trailer truck in Mueang Chonburi yesterday (January 11th).

Emergency responders were notified of the accident in front of a petrol station in the Baan Suan sub-district.

The first response teams arrived at the scene to find a damaged truck and trailer truck on the side of a major road.

The truck driver and injured man, Mr Chalermkiet Chintu, 35, was stuck inside the cab of his vehicle. Rescue workers used a jaw of life to free him and he was taken to a local hospital.

The trailer truck driver, Mr. Nikhom Jittrakom, 36, told the associated Thai press, “I was coming from Rayong heading to Malaysia. Vehicles in front of me were slowing down before a traffic light. The truck driven by Mr. Chintu crashed into the back of my trailer truck.”

Police are checking CCTV footage nearby to find the exact cause of the accident to determine potential liability.
