Chonburi Governor releases orders around Covid-19 and food and beverage establishments in Mueang Chonburi district

The Chonburi Governor released a new order today (January 5th) specifically for food and beverage businesses, especially those that sell alcohol in the Mueang Chonburi District, Chonburi. (This is essentially the same order in effect for Banglamung/Nongprue/Pattaya, now expanded and to be enforced in Mueang Chonburi following clusters from college students in the area.)

The following things must take place:
1. All staff, including musicians, performers, entertainers, etc must take a rapid antigen Covid19 test daily.
2. All customers, regardless of the size of the venue and regardless of the customer’s vaccination or recovery status, must take a Covid-19 antigen test within 72 hours of the current time period to dine-in. The venue can arrange for on-site testing or accept qualified test results.
3. If a venue is unwilling or unable to meet the first two points they must shut immediately until/if restrictions are eased.
The order take affect from today until further notice.

The order has been released after a cluster of students at Burapha University in Mueang Chonburi (staffers and customers at restaurants that sell alcohol) had 17 cases reported today.

Chonburi, led by Banglamung with 337, announces 529 new and confirmed cases of Covid-19 and no new deaths
