The Pattaya City Police is preparing to set up multiple checkpoints for the annual ‘Seven Days of Danger’ road safety campaign for the New Year which will start next week.
The Pattaya City Police Chief Colonel Kunlachart Kunlachai told The Pattaya News, “The seven days of danger for this New Year’s festival will be from December 28th to January 3rd.”
“Pattaya City Police, Pattaya Tourist Police, Banglamung district officers, and volunteers will patrol around the Pattaya area.”
“Multiple checkpoints will be set on the main roads. Our main checkpoint for this coming Seven Days of Danger campaign in Pattaya will be in front of the Big C store in South Pattaya on Sukhumvit.”
“We will be focusing on drunk driving, carrying of illegal weapons, and illegal drugs. These are also normal measurements that we do every day too.”
“However, for long holidays and festivals, there will be more tourists than usual. We will increase the amount of traffic police to manage busy roads and the potential of many drunk drivers.”
“We also have an ‘OBS i-service’ application on smartphone ‘Leave your House Safe with Police’ where residents can register to use our services when they are not at home. Basically, if someone is planning on leaving the city for the holidays and wants us to patrol their home and area, this will allow us to do so.” Colonel Kunlachart Kunlachai concluded.
