18-year-old student dies, second motorbike rider seriously injured in two motorbike collision in Chonburi

An 18-year-old student driver has been pronounced dead at the scene while another driver has sustained serious injuries after two motorbikes collided in Phan Thong.

The Phan Thong Police was notified of the accident in the early morning of Sunday, December 5th, 2021, on Suk Prayoon Road in front of a college in the Nong Tamlueng sub-district.

Law enforcement arrived at the scene to find Mr. Assanee Jansongkroa, 18, a student from the college nearby. He had sustained severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency first responders.

A second motorbike rider, who was not identified by law enforcement, had sustained severe injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital. Two damaged motorbikes were found on the road nearby.

Witnesses to the accident reportedly told Phan Thong police that one of the two motorbike riders might have been driving the wrong way on the road. However, Phan Thong police are checking CCTV footage nearby to find the exact cause of the accident to determine any potential legal action.
