Two Nigerians and three Thais arrested in Bangkok for allegedly possessing cocaine worth more than a million baht

Bangkok, Thailand –

Two Nigerians and three Thais have been arrested in Bangkok, allegedly possessing cocaine worth more than a million baht.

The Thai Crime Suppression Division Police reports they have arrested five drugs suspects who are:

  1. Mr. Daniel (Tony), 40, a Nigerian national has been arrested at a parking area of a department store in North Phra Khanong, Wattana with 41.1 grams of cocaine.
  2. Alfred (Charlie), 38, a Nigerian national has been arrested in front of a convenience store in Soi Pridi Banomyong 14 in North Phra Khanong, Wattana with 340.14 grams of cocaine.
  3. Mr. Gabrial (Joe), 37, a Nigerian national has been arrested in front of a convenience store in Soi Pridi Banomyong 14 in North Phra Khanong, Wattana with 6 grams of cocaine.
  4. Ms. Kanyarat (O), 34, a Thai national has been arrested at a restaurant in a department store in Thong Lor, Wattana with 17.4 grams of Cociane.
  5. Mr. Ausadawut, 25, a Thai national has been arrested at a restaurant in a department store in Thong Lor, Wattana with 65 grams of Cocaine.

The CSD Police said these Nigerian suspects smuggled drugs when they entered Thailand with the goal of setting up complex drug-smuggling networks in the country. They allegedly sold the drugs to affluent and famous people.

The total amount of cocaine seized was 413.59 grams which were worth more than a million baht in street value according to the CSD police. All five suspects are facing charges of illegal possession of category 2 drugs with the intent to sell.

The three Nigerian suspects are facing additional charges of illegally entering and staying in the kingdom, as they reportedly did not have valid passports.
