Chonburi –

A driver has sustained severe injuries after he crashed his truck into a broken-down trailer truck on an overpass in Mueang Chonburi.

Emergency responders were notified of the accident on Wednesday (November 24th) on an overpass in the Na Pa sub-district. They arrived at the scene to find the two severely damaged vehicles having collided with each other.

The truck driver, Mr. Kanchit Anumat, 30, was stuck inside his cab. He had sustained severe injuries and was taken to a local hospital for medical aid.

The trailer truck driver, Mr. Samart Chalermsak, 34, who had not been injured, told TPN media, “My trailer truck had broken-down while I was driving. I stopped my truck and was waiting for a mechanic to arrive before the smaller truck slammed into the back of my rig.”

Police are continuing their investigation for further possible legal action. They did not immediately state if the trailer truck was stopped legally on the overpass and if it had proper warnings to other vehicles, such as warning lights or flares.
