Police said no identification documents and no sign of a struggle or altercation was found on his body.

The man was aged around 40 years old and first responders stated he appeared to have died at least ten days before his body was found. Phan Thong police did not elaborate on who discovered the body, which is in an area that is not often traveled according to them.

At this stage, Phan Thong police believe that the man was searching for fish in the lagoon before fainting and drowning. A full autopsy is being conducted to find his exact cause of death while Phan Thong police work on identifying the man.
