RECAP: Thailand reports 7,079 daily Covid-19 infections with 47 additional deaths today

Thailand discovered a total of 7,079 daily Covid-19 infections with 47 additional deaths in the past 24 hours, the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) reported today, November 14th.

The fatalities were 27 men and 20 women with the most numbers recorded in Bangkok and Chiang Mai with 4 each. 45 of them were Thai nationals and two were Myanmar nationals. The age range was between 13 and 99 years old.

Most of them were reported with underlying health conditions, including hypertension (29), diabetes (16), hyperlipidemia (11), obesity (4), and kidney disease (9). Two of the fatalities were bedridden patients.

Of the new cases, 6,607 were found in hospitals and medical services (which includes contact tracing cases), 292 were from a proactive approach at previously reported clusters, 171 were from prisons, and the remaining 9 were imported cases.

A number of 95,528 patients are still under treatment/isolation/medical care. Of that, 1,808 patients are in critical condition including 425 on ventilators. This is roughly 1.89 percent of cases that are critical while 23.5 percent of that is critical enough for a ventilator.

Regarding the non-prison local infections, the highest numbers of patients were reported in Bangkok with 694, followed by Songkhla with 460, Pattani with 371, Chiang Mai with 357, Nakhon Sri Thammarat with 349, and Narathiwas with 339. Meanwhile, Chonburi reported 189 daily infections today.

A total number of 373,166 people nationwide have received Covid-19 vaccines in the past 24 hours. Of that, 135,251 people had received their first shots, 222,237 people had received their second shots, and 15,678 people had received their third shots. This is roughly 62.8% of the total Thai population who have had their first shot of a Covid-19 vaccine, 50.7% who have had a second shot and are fully vaccinated, and 3.8% have had a third booster shot.

As of today, 6,917 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 2,018,410 cases with 1,902,846 recoveries and a total of 20,036 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
