Woman searching for shells finds dead body instead in Chonburi lagoon

Chonburi –

A woman who was searching for shells found a dead body instead in the Bor Thong district on Thursday (November 4th).

The Bor Thong Police was notified of the incident at 2:00 P.M. at a lagoon in the Tat Thong sub-district.

Rescue workers and police arrived at the scene to find the body face down floating in the lagoon. The body was later identified as Mr. Sombat Kampa, 43, a Bor Thong local. He was wearing only underwear.

Mrs. Buakham Sakaew, 43, the woman who first discovered the body, told police, “My family and I were searching for shells in the lagoon. I saw something which at first I thought it was a coconut. When I get close I realized it was a dead body. We went up from the water before calling police.”

The Bor Thong Police said no sign of a struggle or altercation was found on his remains. Mr. Sombat had been reported missing since Wednesday (November 3rd).

Mr. Sombat’s relative, whose name was not given to the press, told police that Mr. Sombat has a history of epilepsy and sudden epileptic attacks.

However, an autopsy is being conducted to find his exact cause of death.
