Chonburi –

A major fire has destroyed a garden shop in the Mueang Chonburi district on Thursday (November 4th).

Sane Suk firefighters were notified of the fire at 9:00 P.M. at a garden shop on Khao Larm Road in the Huay Kapi sub-district.

The first responders arrived at the shop to find the fire was already heavily ablaze. It took about half an hour to control the fire. The shop was totally destroyed.

The shop owner, Ms. Siriwan Chomchoey, 48, later arrived at the scene and spoke with police, “The shop was closed at 7:00 P.M. and I went back to my home.”

“Inside the shop were only garden staff and a refrigerator. Staff and local residents nearby heard an explosion before the fire started. Luckily, nobody was injured in the blaze.” Siriwan stated.

At this stage, police believe the fire started from an electric short circuit involving the refrigerator. However, the Chonburi Forensic Police are continuing their investigation to find the exact cause of the fire.

An immediate estimate of damages was not available.
