Thai Chamber of Commerce president proposes more Covid-19 relaxations in Bangkok to Covid Center

Bangkok –

The Thai Chamber of Commerce (TCC) has officially proposed more legitimate areas to organize Loy Kratong festivals in Bangkok as well as the extension of drinking hours to the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA).

TCC Chairman Sanan Angubolkul revealed after discussions with General Supot Malaniyom, secretary-general of the National Security Council (NSC), today that the proposal of adding more areas for Loy Kratong events in the capital and the drinking time extension were introduced during the meeting.

The extension was proposed from 9:00 PM. to 11:00 PM. However, this had to wait for a CCSA situation assessment in the first 15 days before considering, according to the chairman.

“Even though the risk of infections is quite low now in Bangkok because eligible people have received 100% of the first dose and more than 80% of the second dose, everything had to be done carefully and it still depends on the behavior of the individual whether they would come out to spend time in the public or not,” Sanan stated.

He also reported the assessment of economic recovery after the opening of the country that there would be about 600,000 tourists arriving in November and December. And if the country opening went smoothly and successfully, around 10 million tourists were expected to arrive in Thailand next year, spending about 70,000-100,000 baht per person.
