Thailand discovered a total of 7,574 daily Covid-19 infections with 78 additional deaths in the past 24 hours, the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) reported today, November 2nd.
The fatalities were 47 men and 31 women with the most numbers recorded in Bangkok with 11. 76 of them were Thai nationals and two were Myanmar nationals. The age range was between 31 and 96 years old.
Most of them were reported with underlying health conditions, including hypertension (28), diabetes (17), hyperlipidemia (18), obesity (2), and kidney disease (4). Three of the fatalities were bedridden patients.
Of the new cases, 6,793 were found in hospitals and medical services (which includes contact tracing cases), 256 were from a proactive approach at previously reported clusters, 515 were from prisons, and the remaining 10 were imported cases.
A number of 98,444 patients are still under treatment/isolation/medical care. Of that, 2,219 patients are in critical condition including 473 on ventilators. This is roughly 2.25 percent of cases that are critical while 21.3 percent of that is critical enough for a ventilator.
Regarding the non-prison local infections, the highest numbers of patients were reported in Bangkok with 789, followed by Pattani with 631, Nakhon Sri Thammarat with 407, Songkhla with 401, Trang with 298, and Chiang Mai with 271. Meanwhile, Chonburi reported 264 daily infections today.
A total number of 515,839 people nationwide have received Covid-19 vaccines in the past 24 hours. Of that, 160,018 people had received their first shots, 333,368 people had received their second shots, and 22,453 people had received their third shots. This is roughly 59.1% of the total Thai population who have had their first shot of a Covid-19 vaccine, 43.4% who have had a second shot and are fully vaccinated, and 3.4% have had a third booster shot.
As of today, 8,279 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 1,927,763 cases with 1,809,981 recoveries and a total of 19,338 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
