Chonburi –
A 31-year-old man has been pronounced dead at the scene after falling down from a garbage chute at an apartment complex in the Mueang Chonburi district. Police believe the man was heavily intoxicated when the incident took place.
The Don Hualor Police was notified of the incident earlier this week at an apartment complex in the Nong Maidang district.
Emergency responders arrived to find the body of Mr. Udomrat, last name not given to the press, 31, on the ground at the bottom of the garbage chute.
Mr. Udomrat’s shoes and some vomit were found near the chute on the 7th floor.
The apartment caretaker Mrs. Suruethai Buakaew, 46, told the associated Thai press, “Mr. Udomrat lived on the 7th floor of the apartment complex.”
Police said no sign of a struggle or altercation was found on Udomrat’s body or inside his room.
At this stage, police believe Mr. Udomrat was heavily intoxicated based on CCTV footage and their investigation so far and fell into the chute by accident while throwing up, presumably a reaction to drinking alcohol earlier.
However, Don Hualor police are continuing their investigation to find his exact cause of death and have not yet finalized the matter.
